My last three posts have outlined problems and failures. I don’t know about you, but all that #fail is starting to bum me out, so I need to break the cycle right here, right now. I’m in need of a little win today, if only to finish out the week with some pep. No need for a dissertation about this or that today. Instead, just watch this video and let it do its thing. It’s short, it’s brilliant, it’s beautiful. (Just ignore the fact that it’s an HBO promo.)
Outstanding.
Whatever it is you want in life, how badly do you really want it? How hard are you really trying? The spirit of victory is alive. And if it isn’t stoking your fire, you can be sure that it is toking someone else gunning for your customers, your market, your job or your belt. If you aren’t the guy in the room who wants it the most, you’ve already lost to the guy who does. You just don’t know it yet.
Just like we manufacture our own failures (see my previous three posts) we manufacture our own wins. It’s a question of perspective. Of will. Of fire. It’s a question of choice.
Have a great weekend.

Man , this vid is awesome.. the power to believe in what you want, and have the mind and heart to go get it.. that is true power.
Reality is, you can be and do anything you want, once you set your heart and mind to it, and follow thru with action.
I havn’t visited in awhile, but shit, this was the perfect day to come back
Well, since my little slice of corporate Americana blocks access to the Youtubes, I can’t see the video, but the message is already clear.
Additionally, I’m finding the more I put into making things happen, the more reinforcement I get that I’m doing the right thing, and that leads to a feeling of being unstoppable, which is pretty cool.
Thanks for the shot in the arm. I’ve got three days to a deadline and only foggy leads at this point. I need to step it up and make it happen.
PS – For whatever reason, the picture above reminds me of a Lionel Ritchie video. Why? I don’t know. But thanks for indirectly putting “Say You, Say Me” in my head.
Wasn’t that on the ‘White Nights’ soundtrack?
Amazing…ok I’m teary…but, you’re right it is brilliant. Just the inspiration I need today to continue a big project I’ve been working on that has been wearing me down. When I watch this video I think…how can I even feel worn down? You’re right it is all perspective, it is all choice and it is all about how bad you want it.
Great video – thanks for sharing!

Yep.
I love the message – and your shot in the arm – I navigated my 2 boutique stores through the past few rough years and through it all we refused to portray any doomsday vibe – we became an island of positive attitude in the stream of negativity as stores all around us went on massive clearance or closed their doors. Through course correcting in staffing, buying, marketing and attitude, we made it through relatively unscathed. Much of it was by working with (read: leaning on) our manufacturers and other vendors, we all worked together to pull through. No doubt we were lucky, but by surrounding myself with winners (the people who are my team), we drew the clients to us for a bit of happy in the darkest times. I know we’re not clear of tough times completely, but I welcome the challenge, the opportunity to strategize, to be better, to hold people’s attention, whatever it takes… sorry for rambling – it’s just how I function. Thanks…
Beautiful. Attitude is everything. More so than ability and talent.
Olivier, that video was awesome. It reminds me of an old Les Brown speech about the power of hunger.
“If you want something bad enough to go out and fight for it, work day and night for it, give up your time peace and sleep for it…” those are the ingredients for creating a dream come true.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing that. I’m making a note of it.
Great Video… No words but a great message. Thanks for sharing!
Sometimes, words only get in the way.
What do you choose to see? The obstacles or the opportunity?
Reminds me a bit of how much ‘stuff’ we allow ourselves to get tangled up in, that which keep us from goals, from really pushing ourselves, and going for it.
Thanks for the end of the week inspiration.

The people who want it bad enough stop at nothing to achieve their goals. They never complain, criticize or take anything for granted. They show up every day giving their all and never backing down, giving in or allow defeat to be a part of the equation.
When we see people who are looking for that instant fame as they feel they deserve it or the ones that want that free ride who are constantly complaining, criticizing and wasting their energy have lost the drive that success is built upon.
Great video that tells such a powerful story. If you have the drive you can move mountains. Anything else is just kicking around some rocks.
Thanks for sharing this.
@SuzanneVara
Great video, although life looks sometimes easier in a montage – without the long and boring parts of life.
But I agree with you. “we manufacture our own wins. It’s a question of perspective. Of will. Of fire. It’s a question of choice.” Well said!
Thanks for the inspiration.
